As many of you may already know, we are currently under way with our checklist for Colonization. Having completed almost all of our objectives and created a foundation for a strong and long-lasting chapter, we are proud to say that Colonization will be finalized this October 2010. Please join us in this historic time as we journey forth. It is exciting and nerve-racking but nevertheless we aren't stopping until we have taken over.

World renowned portrait artist Paul Joseph Penczner, a 1994 special initiate of the Delta Zeta Chapter at the University of Memphis, passed away at the age of 93 after a short illness on Sunday June 27th at his home in Memphis, TN.
A Hungary born artist, Paul also served as a Lieutenant in World War II. In 1951, he and his wife Jolanda immigrated to Memphis; shortly after in 1954, opening the “Penczner Fine Art Studio” in Midtown. In recognition of his great work, in 1995, the mayors of Memphis and Shelby County officially named June 15th “Paul Penczner Day”.
As one of the most well known Memphian artists, Paul’s accolades showcase his amazing talent. After winning awards from the Smithsonian, and with his work adorning the walls of the white house, one of his more notable recognitions is Pope John Paul II accepting his depictions of Jesus and the twelve apostles into the Vatican Museum.
Along with his contributions to the city of Memphis, Paul left a lasting impression on our Fraternity. If anyone has ever received a tour of Memorial Headquarters, Penczner’s work is hard to miss. Entering the rotunda, you are surrounded by six exquisite oil paintings of our founders, all of which were painted by Paul. The majority of the paintings within the museum are Penczner paintings, including copies of his depiction of Jesus and the twelve apostles that were accepted into the Vatican.
Paul Joseph Penczner was born on September 17th, 1916, and is survived by his wife of 60 years Jolanda, his two sons Paul and Marius, three daughters-in-law, Jung-Mi (Rosita), Nancy and Debbie, along with his four grandchildren and many friends. The Fraternity sends it’s condolences to the family and friends of Brother Penczner.
